Understanding Poetry
Atomic Pantoum
By Peter Meinke
The poem ‘Atomic Pantoum’ is written by Peter Meinke, he was born on 1932. He an American poet and author. In his passion and career as a poet, he was able to published seventeen books of short stories and poems. He won the 1986 Flannery O'Connor Award for Short Fiction. His poetry has received many awards, including two NEA Fellowships and three prizes from the Poetry Society of America. He’s one of the greatest poets in his time and that his works had received several awards.
The poem ‘Atomic Pantoum’ is talking about how these deadly weapons, such as colossal weapon affects us and the environment. The danger it gives and the effects it gives to both health and to environment. Peter said on the poem his concerns towards the people around who are victims of these riots. In the first and second stanza of his poem, he dealt with the weapons which he compared in the splitting neurons that no one can stop and has been dividing phenomenally.
By the third and fourth stanzas, the factual, even colloquial, language “start this all over” of the opening turns strongly emotional. Let the process continue, Peter Meinke warns, and destruction will expand as wildly as the splitting of the atoms. The lines in the fourth stanza says, “And choirs will crumble and the fish catch on fire with eyes burned to ashes in the chain reaction. In the poem he said that, if the trouble would never be stopped then it will destroy everything, even the sea creatures will experience the irresistible inferno.
In the fifth and the sixth stanzas, he involved human beings which were not conspicuous in the first part of the poem for he uses less in physical action. These two stanzas involve the concern of the human being whom he said are really the shadow behind of what is actually happening about the process. He reminds the people whom he believed should be responsible in this process. The line “The fish catch on fire because the sun’s force in a chain reaction has blazed in our minds.”
The seventh stanza involves the sun has provided the model for the so called “plutonium trigger,” a small initial explosion that supplies the energy to detonate the explosion of the weapons used to destroy everybody and everything even the sea creatures. The eighth stanza denotes the helpless people who are victims and the people who are soon to be the next victims of the process. People who seeks help from God, praying that the chaos will soon end and that peace will be prevailed. The troubles caused by the chain reactions which is metaphorically compared to the reality of life.
In discreet sense, the poem is giving caution to what could probably happen to us if these problems will continue to split as the nuclei which can caused death and destruction of the human race, the things we had, the things around us. The poem advocates to stop the chaos not just in one place but to every places where people and other living things might be affected. The poet speak through his poem to stop and to end the troubles that mainly causes death.

“Sins”
Readers Response Analysis on “Atomic Pantoum” by Peter Meinke
Atomic Pantoum is a poem about “sins”. Sins that are treated as unintentional or darling sins. The first stanza and second stanza tells about the sins that the people committed. The first and second stanza states that “In a chain reaction the neutrons released, spilt another nuclei which releases more neutrons. The neutrons released blow open some others which release more neutrons and start this all over” which can relate to peoples committed sins, which starts from one single sin then it starts to grow. Like taking drugs for example; a person want to try it out of curiosity, then continue to take it because it gives pleasure, after it that person got overdose from using drugs, then that person will commit crimes just to have money because drugs are costly, then some will commit suicide because of the negative side effect of drug overdose.
The third stanza tells that people keep committing the same sins even though that person knows already that it’s a sin. She/he will act like its nothing or acting blind, like he/she is innocent of the sin they had committed. They call it “Darling Sins”, the sins which is often committed but is treated as unintentional sins. The fourth and fifth stanza tells that some people notices other peoples fault because they know the difference between good and bad but they don’t notice their own fault, in short, some people are hypocrite.
The sixth and seventh stanza tells that people knows what is good and bad, so they will use it against their enemies. Like observing and takes note the flaws of their enemies and use it against them. The eighth and ninth stanza tells that people uses their knowledge about what is right and wrong and use it against their enemies as a revenge but they are being blinded by the fact that what they are doing is not right. The things they do to their enemies are still sins.

Analysis: “Atomic Pantoum” by Peter Meinke
Theory used: Reader Response
The Invented Destruction
Atomic Pantoum, written by Peter Meinke is about the destruction that a weapon could bring not only to humans but also to animals. Weapons that lead to destruction even if it is invented because of a certain country’s security and safety, it is still destructive. The author wants to imply that security weapons like atomic bomb is not a solution, rather a problem that could kill and destroy in a great way.
The first stanza illustrates the process of a chain reaction which starts from a single neutron and multiplies rapidly. Second stanza states the effects of the chain reaction. It is how a small atom that could bring death to many lives.
In the third stanza, the word “blow” means destructive. It brings fright to the people because it could turn a person into ash in a glimpse of an eye. Furthermore, on the fourth stanza the weapon does not only affect humanity but also the animals. That is what the line “…the fish catch on fire with eyes burned to ashes in a chain reaction.”
In the fifth and sixth stanza, the animals are being affected and killed because of the weapon and the responsible of their destruction is human’s responsible they invented the weapon due to the security they wants to acquire that entails the lives of other life forms. Human’s minds are being blinded because they are dying to use it without minding its negative effects.
On the last three stanzas, it implies that the invented weapon that causes chain reaction is a great achievement and people wants to use it eagerly for their opponents. Humans have no idea what the future will bring, either good or bad. Jesus is all we have and need as implied in the last two lines.
The poem was made artistically and in a meaningful way. Based on the poem, the nuclear weapon is dangerous. No one can find security in this world. We only find it if God is part of a person’s life. Otherwise, other securities are false securities. In whatever circumstances, God is enough because he is all we need.

Atomic Pantoum by Peter Meinke
Atomic Pantoum by Peter Meinke reflects on eco-criticism literary theory on the human fascination with destruction, specifically the terrible power of nuclear weapons. The chain reaction generates the energy for such weapon. The force of individual neutrons splits the center of others, releasing energy to split more in a rapidly enlarging progression impossible to stop. The destruction will expand as widely as the splitting of the atoms, the churches will lassitude and people and creatures of the sea will incinerate in the terrific, irresistible inferno.
There are happenings that we may encounter in our lives. Happenings that gives us positive or negative reaction likewise in chain reaction. For example, if you give positive attention towards the environment, they gave you also a positive outcome from the mother nature. It is just give and take towards the environment and human being. The fifth and sixth stanzas involve and intertwine human beings. Whereas the description to a physical process, it now reminds that it is responsible for the process, also it generated by nuclear fission has imprinted itself in people's mind.
The slamming together of meanings that have been implicit in the images all along. Like chain reaction itself, the form details split and release more energy and meaning. Meinke kept the pantoum alive, redefined it in relation and shown that it can apply to what might seem to be a very unpoetic facet of the contemporary world. In the last two stanzas, whatever tragic happen may come into our lives, even if it is curled and tightened with negative solution in the end, we start to embrace ourselves that there is Jesus we looked up to.

“The Poem”
A Reader’s Response analysis of the poem “Anatomic Pantoum” by Peter Meinke
The poem is more likely about Chemistry. Specifically, it speaks about a nuclear weapon, an atomic bomb. The stanzas talk about the process of how the atomic bomb destroys the things it possesses, but this is only if take it in literal meaning. We have to look further than science, enhancing one’s observation and relating to emotions.
In the first and second stanzas of the poem, it speaks about the chain reaction when an atomic bomb explodes. First, the neutrons will release and split in two new nuclei which will release more neutrons and then again and again with the same process. In the third stanza, explained that the chain reaction on the previous stanzas is a detailed of an explosion. In continue, the next two stanzas are the chain reaction of the effects of the explosion. The explosion will destroy the church and the people, as represented by “choirs”, and the creatures of the sea are no exception. On the sixth stanza, it describes the nuclear weapon as “sun’s force” because of its strength, its explosion affected not only on-land but also in water. It continues in the seventh stanza, where it having a strong explosion and contained in a plutonium trigger, people are dying to use it to their enemies, desiring their destruction. In the last two stanzas, it explains that because of our desire to destroy, we were blinded to the effects of this cause. Throughout the poem, ‘destruction’ and ‘chain reaction’ are the most prominent topics. Looking at it deeper, it does not only talks about the nuclear weapon but it also speaks about an experience. Maybe the authors and maybe not, but it surely hold a great emotion a reader can easily pick up.
The reader’s may reflect or relate this poem on the people’s desire about the destruction of an enemy in any way. It can be something as small as gossiping. A chain reaction of untruthful words that could bring destruction the person being gossiped about, but it also affects the person or people who started it, being their reputation being damaged. It could also be reflected or related to something as big as to what is happening on wars, the desire to destroy each other with the help of a powerful weapon and then trying to find hope to stop the chain reaction we, ourselves started.

Atomic Pantoum by Peter Meinke
Reader Response
The Atomic Pantoum that has nine stanzas that explains entirely in different way. In this poem the style was a repetition and thus repetition creates another meaning to the reader. I observe that in the final stanza includes two lines from the first stanza, the poem seems rounded off or circular. The repeated, a phrase may improve additional meanings or assume new ones. This poem said how the effect of the chain reaction to the human. In this poem it tells that we are comparison and connection of human beings into a chain reaction that is always repeats its process. The meaning and significance accumulate from many contexts, connections of the poem into the reader.
In the field of physics we know that chain reaction that the neutrons released split into other neutrons and then again and again its physical process. In this poem it creates meaning to me that life is compared in a chain reaction that is always following what is done and repeats its process again and again. The effects of the pantoum form became more meaningful as they combine with the atomic as what describe in the first stanzas. Is like a chain reaction, repetition as described in the passage in the first stanzas that “In a chain reaction the neutrons released split other nuclei which release more neutrons”. In the first stanzas it said that individual neutrons was force of splitting the center of others and to release more energy and into more rapidly add to progression that is impossible to be stop that humanity is responsible for this process.
In the second stanzas the line “blow open some others” that was also repeated in the third stanzas, that can refer to effects of the released neutrons during the chain reaction generations. The blow was specified into an imperative as the cause and effect of the neutrons that becomes more destructive. Life is always said like chain reaction with in the third stanzas in this line that “blow open some others which release more neutrons and start this all over” again. Similarly, in the third stanza the phrase “with eyes burned to ashes” pertains to humanity, but when the line recurs it refers to the destroyed fish, that the fish there is understand that refers to us human.
Also In the fourth stanza that is said true to life event even though it is conversational by the line “ start it all over “in the third stanzas that is said into an opening turns strongly emotion to the reader. The author said that of some of cautions and the destruction will be expanding as wildly as like of the atoms that is splitting through time to time. Maybe Peter Meinke use the term of “chain reaction” same as the uncontrollably expanding effects of the colossal weapon or about the fission of nuclear weapons. In the fifth and seventh stanzas that were involving the connection of human being to the poem in the lines “With the plutonium trigger curled and tightened we are dying to use it torching our enemies” that human was compared in to plutonium that is a small initial explosion that supplies energy like as human and also the “because the sun’s force” that said human mind that make a decisions in daily life that split up like an nuclei.
I conclude that by analyzing this poem using the reader response on how the text creates meaning to the reader was more wonderful to explain what you have understand about the poem. In this poem that we are compared in to a chain reaction that was not bad to hear but also it’s true to life satisfaction. Life is like chain that always goes and follows its mental or physical process. In last stanzas “Blind to the end split up like nuclei we sing to Jesus in a chain reaction” we may blind for some truth happenings but to the end we are going to change it for another generation and maybe they followed it or not.

Atomic Pantoum
Reader’s Response Theory Analysis
The poem “Atomic Pantoum” by Peter Meinke means about the destructions happening in our world today. The poem uses the language of chemistry in showing how the world was destructed slowly through the split of nuclei which is nuclei represents the generalized or different kinds of environmental destructions. The readers might not realize this automatically because of the words used, but thinking more deeply will make the readers amazed how amazing Peter’s work is.
In the first to second stanza of the poem, it tells us here how the devastation slowly starting through the means of chain reaction. The best way of representing this part of the poem is for example, when you drop a stone in a lake the area on the water where the stone landed created a waves that basically spread, slowly expands and getting bigger and bigger all over the lake. In further explanation, the release of neutrons means the dropping of the stone on the lake which represents the destruction happening in the world today, as it splits other nuclei and release more neutrons is the spreading of the said destruction which was represented by the waves caused by the stone shown in the example above. The destruction happening in our world today is slowly spreading and if people will not take precautions like taking care of our ecosystem will lead to a sudden chaos which will actually make all human suffer or worst, lose our planet.
“Choirs” are the humans and the “fish” are the sea and land creatures living in the world, if the people cannot stop the sudden destruction the possible consequences might happen is the creatures like animals, the plants and stuffs might die and loss their home also with the humans they will not just going to be affected physically but also spiritually, emotionally and mentally as shown in the third to fifth stanza of the poem. The poem’s sixth to ninth stanza then shows what will then be the possible outcome if the people will stop this destruction, saying that because of this destruction created by the chain reaction which the human already knew and have kept on their minds the human will actually dying to implement this or dying to take good care on the environment even more. The aftereffect of this will make the people appreciate more the gift given by God and not just that but also God will be more happier seeing the people taking good care of his gift given. As the last part have said, because of this step lots of people will split up like a nuclei having the same goal which is to take good care of our world and together thank God because of this.
The poem did really gave the readers a warning and as well as an advise in taking good care of our world. The author made his reader more aware of the destructions happening in our world currently and cited the possible outcomes. Readers of the poem might spread this message because this poem not just a piece of literary art where the words are constructed idiomatically but this poem contains a huge lesson needed by people. All readers do knows the destructions happened like the typhoons in our world today which will then make the readers realize that this poem really conveyed a wonderful message in reviving the gift of nature given by God.

The Creation
The poem entitled “Atomic Pantoum” by Peter Meinke, who used chemical element in expressing his thought through this literary work. The poem was adapted from Malaysia and it developed by his creative imagination. It was said that it talks about the human captivation and destruction. But the poem had also other meaning that the reader would capture.
Aside from the scientific explanation which what the poet used in his poem, it can also apply the biblical interpretation.
At the first and second stanza, it was said that “ In a chain reaction the neutrons released split other nuclei which released more neutrons”. The chain reaction that was mention talks about world where there is God. He, who created human being in his image and likeness. And by that, human being produced children as what God’s said to them. And then, human being continues to become many.
But then, as man becomes knowledgeable and discovered the importance of the world, it makes the man overwhelmed. By guiding what was God taught his beloved creation. As the third stanza stated, “Blow open some others and choirs will crumble and start this all over with eyes burn to ashes”.
As men encounter and learn a lot of things in this world, the fish catch on fire that was mention talks about on how human being was caught by evil doing that makes people happy. Then, the mind was influence against the good works that was taught. Human beings were caught because of the blinding sparkles of the sun force.
At the six stanzas stated that, “ Because the sun’s force with plutonium trigger has blazed in our minds we are dying to use it”. By those things that people were surely cannot leave with it that’s what the evil used for God’s people will be on him and if that happened they are dying to use it.
With the plutonium trigger curled and tightened which if the victims continue doing things that would make near to the enemy of their creator. By that, we are dying to use it by torching our enemies because living with it killing themselves for their sins.
However, the judgment of God will comes. But at the end, people were blind for their makes them happy temporarily. In the Book of Revelation, the coming God had different greatest tragic would happen and the wrong doings should be punished. For God said that “ Whoever is evil must go on doing evil, and whoever is filthy must go on being filthy; whoever is good must go on doing good”. For everyone would call and praise the name of God in the Day of Judgment.
Human beings were created as steward of His creation but then it abused and it was used in a wrong way. God created human beings, making them to be like himself but human being are the one who get far from Him. But then, He always gives a chance for those who are willing to come again to Him. Unfortunately, evil works tried to tempt people to make mistakes.
Therefore, Peter Meinke’s poem used hermeneutics theory for he mention Jesus at the last second stanza of his poem. Although he used scientific words such as reaction chain, nuclear and nuclei but it was clearly mention his purpose in making this literary work.

Atomic Phantoum Analysis using Eco-critism approach
The use of Nucler weapons
Atomic Phantoum is a poem written by Peter Meinke. It includes science and history about the past. It talks about the use of explosion or a bomb in the environment without knowing the possible effects to human or other living organism. The explosion has the power to vanish the affected area.
In criticizing the text it takes a lot of issue concerning the possible effects to the reader. Analysing this poem has many ways it can give information about the use of dangerous explosion. In the first stanza there is a sudden reaction of the neutrons released in that particular place that spread and can even multiply thousands of nuclei. It is like a virus that spread and affect thousands of lives. The various elements of atoms had own way of spreading.
The ecocritism has models that can be used in analysing the text. Dominant model in connection to the poem, were human beings abuse the environment and cause of destruction using of nuclear weapons that is harmful to the society. Once the minds of the people is affected it can tolerates them to act by pulling the trigger actively and dying to use it without care if they could also die.
Using such dangerous explosion can also kill innocent lives living in that particular place. To those who were carried away, releasing such dangerous neutrons can gain harmful effects, thoughts that blind their conscience without noticing the effects on it. In that case there were people who fought each other just for their own sake. They don’t take good care of the natural resources made by God because of their selfish decision. People are craving for something that they want to do and the reasons why they haven’t notice the impact in the environment is because their minds had already blazed that they don’t seem to care. In the last part of the poem the people itself are blind in which the action is limited towards the situation.
In the end they are already blind about the happenings in the environment cause by explosive bombs that reach into the water and air. The affected area will become polluted when it does; it will surely destroy its natural inhabitant that can lose the balance of the environment. Which means that there would no longer have a place for living. The eyes burn to ashes can turn people to be blind and cannot see around on what is really happening. The environment has been destroyed as reaction to all the problems caused by the atomic Phantoum.
There are times that our environments are more affected by the man-made nuclear weapons and the big possibility to lose everything in this world because of a bad decision. However if we will be able to find ways to save our planet there is a small chance that we can regain our environmental losses and save ourselves in this world.

The Enemy towards Me
(An analysis using Reader's Response theory)
The world is full of competition and jealousy. It helps the people tolerate themselves not to be contended, that is why most of the people living in this world is worth deceiving. As I read the poem, the blame the humans who is spreading destructions. People of what they believe that by approving those nuclear weapons would make their lives easier. Yes it is true, but they did not also consider the consequences that could destroy the world.
The poem atomic pantoum tends to convey that the world is caused by the people who lives in it. Also, people are the ones fighting. They did not think that they live in the same place. Peter Meinke uses metaphor and analogy to make the poem more artistic.
The first two stanzas focused on the sequence of the repetition of human mistakes like the splitting of nuclei that sooner or later it happens every time there are neutrons released. Every atomic bombs explode, it would destroy always repeated. The destruction cause by human beings is a metaphor of change reaction in the poem through war and the splitting of nuclei are the analogy of the effect of decisions that they made and also the actions of humans of its own nature.
People have dis-agreements but nuclear weapon is not the answer. The use of a nuclear weapon is the end of mankind as we know it and will only bring waste and destruction to this world. Humans need to rethink its way if thought and action. Death and destruction will rain down on us and we need to be mindful that it does not happen.
The poem is also a metaphor of how a person thinks about himself and those around us. We often feel helpless in our life struggles and feel hopeless in our daily fight. The poem tells us not to look too far into the dark side of the world as it will only bring us down further.
So, the poem can be literally about the use of destruction against our fellow man through nuclear action or a metaphor of how we think about ourselves and those around us.

Peter Meinke's Atomic Pantoum Analysis
Reader's Response
Mankind has always struggled in its competition and challenges in dealing with his enemies. As I read the poem, I was curious on who exactly is my enemy? Am I my own enemy fighting within myself or are others my enemies? If I look at nuclear proliferation and its use as a solution to my problems, then I am my own enemy fighting a battle between me, myself, and I. Nuclear action is not the answer and is instead the enemy if we choose to use it against my enemies.
The poem Atomic Pantoum written by Peter Meinke talks about the devastation of Earth cause by the humanity. Meinke uses metaphor and analogy. In doing so he provides justice on giving art of his writing. The poem evolves on the anger of the persona of the poem who blame the humanities for the spread of the destruction.
Chain reaction in the poem is a metaphor of the destruction cause by human beings through war and the splitting of nuclei are the analogy of the aftermath of the the wrong doings of humans of its own nature. The first two stanzas focused on the chain or the cycle of the repeated mistakes of the humanity. That, just like the splitting of nuclei it eventually happens everytime there are neutrons released. That every atomic bombs explode it would bring vast devastation and history always repeat itself.
Third and forth stanzas, the persona of the poem particularly includes the possibility of the destruction of the churches if the chain reaction continues. Mankind will suffer. In the line " and choirs will crumble", in literal sense it means churhes will fall apart. It would stop functioning. It was also stated in the poem that the sea would be affected in the chain reaction. The spread of neutrons kills the lives underneath the ocean. Turning them into ashes and banished forever.
While we people with no colossal weapon filled with so much anger wanted to use the sun's force to torture our enemies using the blazed of the sun.
We, who are the victims of the splitting of nucleus ( war ), can't do any better but look up of the Man above. Because we, within ourself knew that the continous chain reaction can't be stopped in one single action. It's mankinds' decision wether or not to leave on the world with splitting atom. Wether or not to live in harmonious world filled with the melody of singing choirs instead of the deaffening explosion of the bomb.
The poem Atomic Pantoum could be understood even in its literal sense but it would always differ if we go deeper on its meaning. The poem is full of anger and hatred towards mankind's devastation of his world. Putting the blame on mankind's shoulder which is merely appropriate because it is humans accountability to return the favor given to him by Him to temporarily occupy a space in this world.

“The History behind the Atomic Pantoum”
(Neo Historicism Analysis of Atomic Pantoum by Peter Meinke)
Atomic pantoum was a type of a classic poem written by Peter Meinke. We are already familiar with the word “Atomic” from the word atom which was defines as the smallest particle exists and produces energy as itself. Then, the word pantoum was comes from the poetic form of Malay word “pantum” means quartains (a type of stanza or a complete poem consisiting a four lines.) Peter Meinke has published twelve books of poetry, including Scars (1996) and Liquid Paper (1991). He was the awardee of 2001 SEBA Award from the Southeast Booksellers Association. Regarding with the poem, it tackles about the reaction and the death cause of atomic bomb in a society.
One thing I observed while reading the poem was widely anthologized because the author widely tackles about the death cause of atomic bomb. Somehow, the atomic bombing of Nagasaki and Hiroshima in 1945 during the World War II captured my mind. The social view on this specific idea was when August 6, 1945, when the U.S. dropped an atomic bomb named “Liitle boy” on Hiroshima. The American President Truman called Japan to surrender for an hours because he warning them to “expect a rain of destruction from the air that they never seen on their entire life. Then, August 9, the U.S. dropped another type of bomb named “Fat boy” on Nagasaki. In the first two bombings, the critical effects of the atomic bombings killed over 80,000 to 140,000 people in Hiroshima and 35,000 to 70,000 in Nagasaki unevenly half of the deaths in each city happened on the first day. Then, the next month after the bombing, large number died from the effect of burns, radiation effects and other effect, compounded by serious disease and illness. Both cities, most of the dead were civilians although Hiroshima had a large military casern. In the final year of the war, the military prepared for what was expected to be a very expensive invasion of the Japanese land. These two bombings, which killed at least 150,000 people, remain the only use of nuclear weapons for war in history.
All in all, the imagery of the poem was the nuclear weapons. The author has kept the pantoum alive where he redefined it as a relative to this literary piece, and shown that it will apply to what might seem to be an unpoetic aspect of the existing world.

ATOMIC PANTOUM
Analysis using Reader’s Response
The expanding nuclear weapon or colossal weapon is one of the alarming and terrifying effect in our lives and in our environment. Though, we benefits a lot from it, but it cause a deadly effect to human and huge damage in environment. So, the author used form of physics as a symbolized a nuclear weapon and colossal.
On the first and two stanzas it used “chain reaction” means the uncontrollable expanding effect of the colossal weapon. Which the individuals neutrons split the center of others. Means it increased and releasing energy rapidly enlarging progression impossible to stop. Example the country of Japan. The life of people was endanger by the power of nuclear weapon. Yes, it is very easy and short process in the electricity at first. It’s very cheap. But when the tragedy comes, the tsunami attract and the nuclear was affected and thousands of life was lost and damage especially the environment. Not only in Japan, but including the neighbor country. The smoke of nuclear bomb is deadly effect for the human.
On the third stanza, the poem resolved into strong emotional. The author warns that the decimation will greatly extend as the splitting of the atoms. The churches and people will collapse and crumble because of the terrible effect of the colossal weapon. By the six stanza, it reminds the readers that humanity is responsible for this process. That we are dying to use it.
In the consumption, the author discourage the people to used nuclear weapon or colossal weapon. Since other country haven’t use it, don’t attempt to create it. Because it is impossible to stop and control that kinds of colossal weapon. Just consider also the negative effect of the nuclear weapon and the side effect to the people.

The Explosion
Analysis about the Atomic Pantoum Using Eco-criticism Theory
Atomic Pantoum by Peter Meinke talks about the effects of nuclear weapons. The poem emphasizes about the fission of nuclear weapons. It tackles also the negative effects to the people and to the society. Yet, people are blind about this and still continue to make such dangerous weapons.
This poem uses dominant model which means humans abusing the nature. Most of the serious crimes nowadays involve these weapons; guns, atomic bomb, etc., for example the atomic bomb, it can kills a lot of innocent people and destroys the environment. It is really clear in the first two stanzas that human beings are responsible for nuclear incidents and also the process behind it. When this weapon will explode it can cause a lot of negative effects especially for humans and to the nature. The person behind the bomb is not any more concerned about the negative effects of the bomb to the environment. The atomic bomb is very dangerous and can diminish the living organisms all around the globe swiftly. The poem emphasizing that people is destroying the world without any hesitation. Some people do not think how blessed they are in this living world; free oxygen, plenty of water, rich in minerals, etc. because they’re abusing it. For example the sunlight that was mentioned in the poem, as most people know sun gives free energy to living organisms. Suddenly, some people used it for their negative purposes, just like for nuclear weapons. Scientifically speaking, the sun supplies energy for atomic purpose which is responsible for the explosion of nuclear weapons. This explosion can damage a wide range of the environment. The poem illustrates that people do not really care for the environment instead they’re caused a lot of damage to the society.
Therefore, this poem illustrates that human beings abused the nature and caused a lot of damage to the environment using the powerful nuclear weapons.

The Tribulation
The science drawn poem “Atomic Pantoum” recurs about an undesirable phenomenon that will occur and has two different valuable meaning. It was written by an American poet named Peter Meinke. His reputation as a writer became his greatest achievement. He was awarded or known as one of the United States foremost poets in the late twentieth and twenty first centuries. Meinke’s genre of poem has been commended for the clarity of the meaning, dark absorbing, philosophical and analytical type of poems. It requires plenty of time to get the hidden meaning. His idea connects with the readers and pressured by the contemporary poetry. Meinke has written equitably several genres of poetry, from the free verse to traditional patterns, etc.
Aside from its scientific meaning, the “Atomic Pantoum” was a portrayal of how the earth was going to be devastated by a disastrous phenomenon. Which is be called the second coming of the savior Jesus Christ. The dreadful effect of the nuclear weapons that was created also by humans symbolizes the great earthquake. It was presented in the Bible in the book of Revelation.
As stated, in the first two stanzas, “the continuous splitting of the individual neutrons that rapidly blows and the increasing force will still split in an uncontrollable progression”. It represents that the upcoming earthquake of the near tribulation days will be undeniably bugged all down, every formation and structure. As stated, no stone shall be underneath any other stone.
The process will still continue, the atoms will continue splitting and the destruction will expand. And it will destruct an immeasurable scale, the word will sway and stumble and be devastated. The physical features of the earth will be turn into ashes. The mountains, the tress, the technology, etc. that was created by humans will be vanished. As what the prophecy had stated the great desolation of the earth will come. The earth will be void and null of the things therein. Even the sea and the creatures beneath will incinerate in terrific, irresistible inferno.
The preceding stanzas involve and implicate impacts to human beings. He inhabitants of the earth will cry for help and will shout for death, but it will not be granted. The seven last plagues of the wrath of the Lord will sojourn. Even the greatest, the most powerful, highly appreciated and the richest individual of the earth cannot escape nor can’t the poorest, or the persons with health disabilities be excused and all will be at stake.
The representation of the sun as it blazed in the sky was also caused by a nuclear fission. As it was stated that it will be triggered, the earth will blazed. And a sudden gas will light up like a lightning, in its heaviest voltage meter. The blatant fire of which the sun had produced will be seen, the loud sound of the trumpet will be heard. And Just with a blink of an eye the believer of Jesus Christ that had already passed shall rise. Together with his millions of angels from the skies will be seeing Jesus, in his perfect state and grandeur manner.
As the last stanza stated ’’ we sing to Jesus in chain reaction’’. Thus, the poem portrays his second coming. As clearly stated in the Bible, He will come in his righteousness, with a loud sound and in white sparkling raiment. And that everyone will be singing hymn of praises unto him in the blaze of his glory.
In this sense the poet, collaborates science in portraying the hidden message of the poem, because humans are highly curios of the technology that some other individuals forgot about the purpose of God. Of why he came to the world, is that he want that humans will be able to realize the great desolation of the earth.

An Analysis of the Atomic Pantoum Using Eco-criticism
“The Destruction of Nuclear Weapons”
Eco-criticism often applied to literature to examine how human beings affect environment. The poem "Atomic Pantoum" by Peter Meinke can certainly apply in this perspective. The poem talks about the human allurement of using dreadful and very dangerous nuclear weapons that cause destruction to the environment.
The first and second stanza of the poem suggests the physical process of chain reaction of a nuclear weapon. A chain reaction in which neutrons released in fission or the splitting of nucleus produce another fission of the other atoms, releasing more neutrons and more energy. In the line "blow open some others," suggests the nucleus splitting will split into more neutrons. Also, in the line, "and start it all over," suggests that the process will continue and will not stop because it is uncontrollable.
In the third and fourth stanza, Peter Meinke gives a warning of the terrible destruction and effects of the chain reaction of the nuclear weapon. It will cause and produce a large explosion. The chain reaction will make the "choirs” employs churches and people to fall apart. In the line “the fish catch on fire," employs that the creatures of the sea will be affected too. They will be destroy by and will be burn in a terrible fire. It shows a destruction of the environment because of the dreadful power of the nuclear weapon.
In the fifth and sixth stanza highlights the involvement of human beings in the said destruction. It suggests that human beings are responsible and the reasons for this dangerous chain reaction. Furthermore, "plutonium trigger," is already engraved in the minds of the people because they are the one who make nuclear weapons. Humankind "is blind to see the destruction, to the point that they are “dying to use it” to set fire and to cause damage to their enemies. In war, people wanted badly to use nuclear weapons to kill and burn their fellow mankind. The poem employs that people, “we’ are the one who abuses and destroy the environment because of using nuclear weapons that greatly affects our environment. Because of that, people are called the dominant.
Looking deeper in the two stanza of the poem, it suggests that in the end, people will be affected too of their wrong doings. They will be visionless and will be blinded of the nuclear weapons. Because of that, they will be like nuclei, split up and will destroy itself.
Thus, Atomic Pantoum involves the fascination of human beings that result to the terrible destruction of the nuclear weapon on the environment and also to the humankind. Humans are the dominant in the poem, who abuses and made use of nuclear weapon. Human beings affect the environment.

Understanding about Atomic Pantoum
The Poem entitled Atomic Pantoum is written by Peter Meinke. Atomic Pantoum does not try to conceal meaning. It might be the author experienced it and that is why he made that poem to relieve his stress. The poem consists of nine stanzas and each stanza has four lines. It is unique poem when you read it and it takes too much interesting to read because it had an awful title. Maybe the poem has a deeper meaning but when it tries to read it closer about the World War. Because the text of the poem it mentioned about plutonium trigger. So that plutonium mean it is radioactive metallic element that is used to make nuclear energy and nuclear weapons. By that, it takes to much thinking what would be about and to challenge memory capacity. Through using aspects it easily to determine what significance maybe it can help to conclude comprehensively.
In cultural aspect, the poem entitled Atomic Pantoum it is relevant and also important to know everything when it comes to the past. From past to present, present to future and future to past. Everything in this world is temporary as what the bible stated and also the older said. They have had lots of experienced which they cannot forget those things and example of that is the World War. Expecting in World War is not only using those guns and with the small bullets, but also their used big bombs such as perilous nuclear bomb. From now on, it is still shared from older at the ages fifty above to the young adult about what happened in the World War and how they survived from starving. There are lots of people who died by used of nuclear bombs and not just only human affected but also the nature and the animals.
It is so afraid to hear that about nuclear bomb is still exist now. Several people now are still confused about who made first nuclear bombs. Are these the American or the Japanese? But perhaps mostly of the answer is the Japanese who made first nuclear bombs. Because as what they stand now also they are much updated when it comes to technologies and everything. Somehow, until now it is been practiced about telling those past experienced which it cannot be vanish to our memory but it is also fresh to our memory when they share it and feel it.
In political aspect, maybe when the time of World War the Government controls the people and trained them how to make nuclear bombs. It is distinctive to see how they worked for it and maybe upon they made they are the one also use to it. The Government has rights to do anything at that time. It is injustice and horrific situation that people encountered in the cruel world. Somehow the government own the power and only might bring him down is to shoot him. In the past there is no Government woman who led in the world and it had gender bias at that time. So far now there is a woman now who led in the politics now. There is equality to the world now but not fully hundred percent maybe seventy percent the rest thirty percent might be find out.
Therefore, in cultural aspect it tells about the traditional of the past and shared it to the present. Because until now it is also happen to shared what you have experienced to the person and it might get to learn of them. In political aspect it tells about how the government controlled the people. Because at that time people are powerless to do what they want and as far as now people are also have power what are the best thing to fight for the rights. Lastly, personal aspect it tells about the psychological of the character or the people. Because people at that time there just do what the government said to them but, through people now are knowledgeable and clever they cannot put them down and also make them fool. Moreover, the poem had a beyond meaning but in the sense of using those aspects it easy to detect what will might be all about.

"The Untold Truth"
Atomic Pantoum was written by an American poet Peter Meinke. His ideas resonate with the readers. Atomic Pantoum is a portrayal of a disastrous phenomenon that we will be facing. The objective of chain reaction is to eliminate your opponent obs.
In the first and second stanza the author describes the chain reaction. How individual are unstoppable to spread their own power. When someone is bad, he can influence other people because humans had the ability to influence others. When neutrons split other nuclei it’s impossible to stop because it will just open more neutrons and start all over. Just like people once they are influenced it will very hard to stopped because maybe the one that they influenced can influenced a large number of people that will lead to the destruction of everything. The author also talks about weapon here. The weapons that would bring harm to humanity and environment as well.
In the third and fourth stanza it talks about the effect of weapons. The author describes that as splitting of atoms continue the destruction will expand. The effect of weapon will ruined the churches, people, the creatures in the sea and many more. If people will not stop doing bad things they will be the one who will destroy everything. People will not stop discovering and making new weapons, until they did not discover that they are destroying our home which is earth.
In the fifth and sixth stanza this is how the effect of the weapons that the human are making. We are dying to use it. We are dying to know what would be the effect of the weapon in us. Even if there are lots of people who will be going to involved in the tragedy, not only people but animals as well. We should be responsible in everything that we did because in the end we will be the one to suffer the consequences of our actions.
In the seventh and eighth and ninth stanza the persona is trying to call all the people to have faith in God because once that there are people who will influenced others and it’s like chain reaction it will be easily spread. Once, it is spread people will think to stop making weapons that can harm everything.
People will sing to Jesus in a chain reaction. People are united to stop doing bad things. Beside people should be responsible in everything they did because we will be moving forward together like the chain reaction.

Analysis of Atomic Pantoum of Peter Meinke
Intelligence Obliteration
The poem Atomic Pantoum was written by Peter Meinke. The poem was reflected to the human life destruction that creates chaos in one’s life. The nuclei destruction that was being mentioned on the poem symbolized the nuclei weapons that are being used in wars that created a major destruction on humanity. The author was trying to put a strong attack upon the cause of the use of these weapons for it became the major source of unending chaos and destruction on society.
In the first three stanzas of the poem, the author described the physical process in chain reaction the more it was being heated up the more destruction it might cause. The spread of the neutrons that was released by these weapons were repeatedly unending and the effect to one’s self after inventing this kind of weapon was undeniably negative. The “eye’s burned to ashes” on the third stanza-fourth line means the cause of destruction to one’s self by these nuclei weapons.
In the fifth and sixth stanzas the poem involves humanity. The author was trying to point that the human has also a great part of the destruction that takes placed when these weapons were created. Humans were blinded by the power of science that they do not even consider the possible effect of their invention before jumping into conclusion to create. The human minds were blocked by the reality. The more intelligent mind became curious the more destruction will take place.
The seventh and eight stanzas of the poem described that the humans were only pulling a trigger on one’s head. The creation of these deadly nuclei weapons were the gun that was placed on the head of the humanity. The humanity was dying to use the intelligence that was being given to them. The enemies were lighted up because of these creations but for the humanity it was like putting a gun on one’s head and unconsciously pulling the trigger.
In the last stanza of the poem, it was ended up saying that humanity was blinded just like the fast splitting of the nuclei and humanities were turned to the Almighty. Back to the savior where everything was fine and no more destruction and chaos. It can be inferred that in everything the humans did they will always find ways back to the savior.
In the end, humanity was highly damaged because of these creations. The unlimited wants and self-pleasure just to make something new can lead to destruction. The science of invention can be good but there is always a negative effect on it. As what the law of motion said, in every action there is always an opposite reaction.

Readers Response of the poem Atomic Pantoum by Peter Meinke
Peter Meinke is one of the American poets that concerns into poems that can be reflected by the society, the situation that happen and will probably happen in the future. This poem is about the human fascination with destruction, specifically the nuclear weapons. In this connection, Peter warns the people of the possible destruction.
One exciting aspect of the pantoum is its subtle shifts in meaning that can be occur as repeated phrases are revised with different punctuation and thereby given a new context. The repetition of the lines made the poem interesting because that line could mean something completely different in a different stanza. In the first stanza, “In a chain reaction the neurons released split other nuclei which release more neurons”. It describes how the reaction that generates the form of energy of weapons that will spread to others. The release of the energy can be dangerous because it can form a bigger and disastrous outcome which will be impossible to stop.
In the third stanza “Blow open some others and choirs will crumble and start this all over with eyes burned to ashes” and down to the six and seven stanzas. This means that it totally affects humanity. There are some legitimate reasons or just a mind boggling complex that triggered humans to use these weapons. It’s all in the mindset of the people, and the responsibility lies in their self.
The reason why Peter Meinke made this poem is to let the people reflect from the possible chance to be triggered by this kind of temptation. Some perceived that destruction is one way to solve a problem, and that is going nowhere. People have to consider the consequences of it, uphold the responsibility as a person, moral laws and ethics.

Understanding Poetry (Tth 4:00-5:30pm)
Atomic Pantoum
Atomic Pantoum was written by Peter Meinke who was born in Flatbush in 1932. Meinke moved in 1994 to New Jersey and mountain lakes high school, where his graduation yearbook read “Wants to be Writer”. Peter Meinke wrote the poem Atomic Pantoum in order to reflect on the human fascination most specifically the terrible nuclear weapons.
In the poem, the first two stanzas describe the chain reaction that generates the energy for such weapon. The force of individual neutrons splitting splits the centers of others, releasing energy to split still more in a rapidly enlarging progression impossible to stop. By the third and fourth stanzas, the factual even colloquial, language of the opening turns strongly emotional. Let the process continue, Peter Meinke warns, and destruction will expand as wildly as the splitting of the atoms.
Moreover, the four stanzas designated that the churches will collapse and people and creatures of the sea will incinerate in the terrific, irresistible inferno. Meinke thus extends the term “chain reaction” to the uncontrollably expanding effects of the colossal weapon. It is very confusing and terrifying to think why Meinke thought of the worldly creatures of the sea where in fact people would then suffer after all because a creature doesn’t have a literal way of living just like human beings.
The fifth and sixth stanzas involve and implicate human being that is in the first two stanzas Meinke limits his description to a physical process, now he reminds readers that the humanity is responsible for this process. The model of the sun’s energy, also generated by nuclear fission that has imprinted itself in people’s minds.
The seventh, eighth and ninth stanzas describe as how beings are used to make embarrassment to the other people that might be so weary in the end by torching our enemies. “Curled and tightened” means that human beings maybe sometimes vulgar in doing such unremarkable thing that that would make blind to the end. In a sense, by creating stupidity stuff by our enemies, human beings are still able to sing God and asked God for forgiveness in just in a chain reaction that would then made them (blind) regret to the end.
Additionally, the effects of the pantoum form from becoming as meaningful as it conspire with the subject. Like a chain reaction as it was described is generative. Some pantoum emphasized circularity however “Atomic Pantoum” gains complexity as it extends the meanings of the chain reaction. Unfortunately, the first stanzas state the theme, while later iterations vary the theme and it is always focus unto it. The poem ends in the slamming together of meanings that have been implicit in the images all along.
Furthermore, the form establishes a kind of inevitability that the lines are necessarily repeating and obligating the poet to devise applications for them or rather it is a process that continues as long as the poem requires. Nevertheless, Meinke has kept the pantoum alive, redefined it in relation to this subject (Understanding Fiction) shown that it can be apply to what might seem to be a very poetic facet of the contemporary world.
Therefore, “Atomic Pantoum” does not try to conceal its meaning. It might be possible to imagine Meinke, teeth tightened in anger and stabbing his words into paper with the point of his pen. Unfortunately, meaning and significance accumulate from many contexts, connections that radiate outward from the poem like rings on water more appropriately shock waves from an explosion.

Also Peter Meinke is the author of the poem " Atomic Pantuom" in sort of calling e attention of every human to help stop the the troubles to be vanish. The first and second stanza describe the chain reaction that generates the energy for such a weapon: The poem generates about the weapon they use to released more neutrons. Releasing energy to split still more in a rapidly enlarging progression is impossible to stop. By the third and fourth stanza, by this two stanzas talks about the effect of the environments. In my own understanding about it, environment are in danger and people need to stop and help it to maintain this property to be clean and green. Sort of environment destruction will expand, creatures of the sea will incinerate in the terrific and worse situation if people doesn't do anything to prevent this property. The fifth and sixth stanzas involve and implicate human beings. People are responsible to do good things in this worlds. In my own perspective, people have their limitations to use over the things that given by God and not to destroy this property. And the poem implied the people's minds so that people are aware and to open up to the people about the situation. In the 7th, 8th and 9th stanzas, they relief there selves through prayer. Prayer is key and one of the way to relief their doubt. And to call all human to start new to generations. The poem Atomic Pantoum is dealing with the reality that conspicuously happening around us that may gave environment and social destruction. Peter Meinke is calling all the citizens to help stop the chaos and this poem will leads people to open up the minds of every citizens to think that people should value things of what they have and not to abuse it.

Analysis of Atomic Pantoum of Peter Meinke
Suffering found in Ideals Peter Meinke is one of the most respected practitioners of formal poetry. There was no wonder why Peter Meinke had wrote the poem Atomic Pantoum, for he wrote pieces that were more like insightful social criticism. The poem has been published to many places. Atomic Pantoum is the reflection of the interests' of human to destructions. The theory of structuralism will be the tool to further understand the poem, through the formula "science and human interest can lead to destruction."
The chain that has been mentioned in first stanza, is the tool of destruction. This chain carries the weapons that would kill even the tiniest breathing and non living creatures. This shows how science can harm humanity and nature.
On the second stanza, it stated that more neutrons will be release. It just mean that the more neutrons will be release, the more casualties will be held.
On the third, fourth and fifth stanzas, it was emphasizes the destructions of science to humanities. The more and more releasal of neutrons, its tiny pieces will spread all over that even churches will shattered down into pieces, and people will be flamed until its flesh turned to ashes.
Sea creatures will be put on fire. No one is excuse. Everything, the breathing, the creatures and the things on the land and sea will be victim of these neutrons intensely burning fire of forces in chain reactions.
These huge disasters will happen and it feels like the rays of the sun carries elements that will kill humans just like an instenes burning fire.
The hunger of defending can sometimes led to oppression. The thirst of defending over the enemies can sometime cause their own downfall through this too much use of plutonium. Future is inevitable and so disasters, but disasters cause by human can be control and stop by humans too. Disasters such as bombings, nuclear weapons, disasters that also brought by science, all these are under the control of humans and so humans are the ones being victim by all the ideals of intelligence and science. The advantages of science can led to its disadvantages if human intelligence cannot be control and black agendas took over the both ideals, great devastation will occur. In the end the intelligence and advancement offered by science will shattered to pieces and humans will kneel down back calling the name of the God like the split up of nuclei.

Readers Response Analysis
Peter Meinke was an American poet, author and a professor at Eckerd College where he was a director of the EC writing workshop. By his brilliant mind he published 17 books of poems and short story. And one of his works was awarded in 1986 Flannery O’Connor Award for short fiction. Peter Meinke was appreciated and idolized by the people through his ideas in making poems and one of his writing was the “Atomic Pantoum” which reflects on the human fascination with destruction, that specifically the terrible power of nuclear weapons.
Have you try to play a cell phone game called “Chain Reaction”? It is somewhat kind of a game where you have to take control of the board by eliminating your opponent orbs. You have to take the orb to the place where there is another orbs then you have to compose four orbs. Once a cell has reached critical mass the orbs explode into the surrounding cells adding an extra orb and claiming the cell for the player. That’s how I understand the poem in comparison to the game. The “Atomic Pantoum” was logicallyreflected on the human destruction and the terrible power of nuclear weapons. But if you just have a wide perspective about the poem, you’ll just realized that its somehow not just pointing on destruction using weapon but also the fact that once it is spread out it will never stop.
The poem talked about how destruction easily spread out that why it warned to never let that happen because it might be unstoppable. It is elaborated that the force of individual neutrons released and split to the other nuclei just like in the in the game. Now let’s take it in a situation like gossip, it can easily be spread out, rapidly progressed and impossible to stopespecially if it’s really destroyed someone’s reputation. The poem strongly delivered a message to stop the destruction if it’s not too late. Even if it’s torching our enemies but we are dying to use it.
As inference, the poem “Atomic Pantoum” is calling a united move to stop the expansion of destruction that wildly splitting around the world. It affects each individual; emotionally, physically and socially. Everything will be destroyed and collapse, people and creatures of the sea will incinerate in the terrific, irresistible inferno. PeterMeinke thus extends the term “chain reaction” to the uncontrollably expanding effects of the colossal weapon and it must be stop.

The first stanza is talking about the first chain reaction of the atom and how it multiplies. It is like a new discovery of mankind. Just like when God made the world but still not contented, so he made Adam and later on, Eve. The second stanza talks about the process of the production of atoms saying in the poem “Blow open some others which release more neutrons.” This only shows that the discovery has pushed through. Just like when God sees His creation and Adam and Eve enjoying the things surrounded to them. The third stanza is talking about the destruction that the atomic reaction have done and there is no way to stop it. Same with Adam and Eve when they eat the apple of the tree of knowledge. Their ignorance died and then they were exchanged with knowledge, that is the destruction.
The fourth stanza is talking about the continuous destruction that the reaction has made and has no way of stopping it. Same with Cain when he killed his brother Abel, the destruction is slowly changing the course of the world. The fifth stanza talks about how the chain reaction that caused the sequence of the destruction and nothing could be done about it. Just like when God has seen the destruction that man has done to His creation, the world and is thinking on how stop man from making it worst. The sixth stanza talks about the knowledge that man had done to themselves but still not stopping because of scientific discovery. Just like God, when he really cannot do anything because of his love for man. That is the reason why God sacrificed his only son to cleanse the people of the world and save them through Son of God.
The seventh stanza talks that even if people are dying, they are still trying to mingle with science and pursue their study of this new scientific discovery. When God also sees the destruction of the people to the world even if He sacrificed His only son to save mankind from evil. The eighth and ninth stanza talks about the realization of mankind and what he did to himself and to the world and is now asking for help from the Almighty Father. It is the realization of people that when in times of great danger then the people would ask for help from the Almighty Father.
Thus, the people really thinks about themselves and not thinking to what they are doing to their surroundings and world. That is the reason why people are so busy with themselves not knowing that there are beautiful things around them. Then when in danger, they would seek help from the Almighty God and want to be responded immediately not knowing that when God needs them, they do not care.

An analysis on the poem Atomic Pantoum using Reader’s Response
What is the hidden meaning of chain reaction and other words in the text? Every text has its own hidden or underlying meaning, so in this theory, interpretations on the text will be discussed. This poem the Atomic Pantoum was written by Peter Meinke was from Liquid Paper: New and Selected poems, by Peter Meinke in 1991, reprinted by permission of Pittsburgh Press.
In the whole text, chain reaction means the humans dangerous nuclear weapons. When these weapons are released or fired, it split like nuclei or spread like nuclei then gives a lot of effects or harm to its surroundings specifically to the place where it was intend for. When these weapons are released, it harms not only their place where it was intended for but also the places near it that are innocent. Through that damage, this weapons release more neutrons for harming others who are not included.
When this effect comes, everything will be miserable because they will not only fore those weapons once but many times. And those pity people will see their houses burned or gone in front of their very own eyes. Not only those who lived in land can be damage but also those who lived in water. Fishes and other sea creatures could also died because of these harmful weapons not with natural phenomenon.
When these weapons hit the same pace for how many times, then people from that places can get an idea to do the same for their enemy, to take revenge using the same weapons and are dying to use it.
When people are convince to use the same weapons to fight back with their enemies. Then the war starts and later on became blind with their actions and then realizes to the end that the war never stops. When regrets came, they ask forgiveness and protection from above and then split like nuclei and pray to Jesus just like chain reaction.
A lot of words from the text had its underlying meaning. Indeed these nuclear weapons are very dangerous. So it urge the other side to fight back using the same weapons and later on realizes it didn’t stop and then regret everything because the conflict just became worst.

Understanding Poetry
Theory used: Hermeneutics
Chaos brought by nuclear weapon
The science drawn poem Atomic Pantoum recurs about an undesirable phenomenon that will occur has two different valuable meaning. It was wrote by an American poet named Peter Meinke. His Achievement earned a reputation a one of the United States foremost poets in the late twentieth and early twenty first centuries. Meinke’s poem have been praised for the clarity, dark absorbing, witty and philosophical type of poems. His ideas resonate with the readers and often perplexed or browbeaten by contemporary poetry. Meinke has skillfully balanced a variety of approaches, from the free verse to traditional patterns, sonnet etc.
On the first and second stanza the poem talks about the devastation of earth by a catastrophic phenomenon, which is called the second coming of our lord Jesus Christ, also in the first two stanzas the continuous split of the neutrons that rapidly increase force will still split in an uncontrollable progression. It portrays that the earthquake of the risky days will be undeniably bugged down every formation and structure.
The next stanzas entail and implicate strike to human beings. The inhabitants of the earth will beg for help and will howl for death, but it will not be grant. The seven last plagues of the wrath of the Lord will tarry. Even the eminent, the most influential, neither the richest nor poorest cannot escape.
The sun’s energy model is generated by a nuclear fission; thus, clearly stated that the plutonium trigger will blazed the earth and will light up like a lightning in its heaviest voltage meter. The blinding sparks of the sun will be seen as well the sounding of the trumpet will be heard and even the dead in Christ shall rise up from the skies and will be seeing Jesus in his perfect state and magnificence.
As the last stanza stated ’’ we sing to Jesus in chain reaction’’. Thus, the poem describes the second coming of Jesus Christ. As inarguably stated in the Bible, Jesus Christ will come in his righteousness, with a deafening sound and in white scintillate garment, that everyone will be chanting hymn of praises unto him in the blaze of his glory.
In this sense the poet cooperating science in delineating the secluded meaning of the poem, because human beings are highly inquisitive of the technology that some other individuals neglect the purpose of God. That God wanted us to realized the destruction of the great melancholy of the earth.
