Yesterday, September 19, 2009, we were invited to the Prantilla-Arambala Nuptials. It was held at the Transfiguration of Monastery, San Jose, Malaybalay City.
We arrived at the church at around 12:45. the bride arrived ten minutes thereafter. Our friends, Ma'am Elen, Ma'am Amy, Ninong Tom, Fredsky, Lisa, Nante, Joy, Emily, ate Amitz,Dennis, ate Fe, ate Star, Ma'am Noems, Ninong Jun,Ma'am Coring, Sir Rene, Aga, Maybeth, Onnah and Ninoy were there-- in other words, we are in complete attendance-- quite emotional in witnessing one of the blessed events in the life of our friend Mayang.

The ceremony was really solemn, and the message of the priest took me along

" marriage has mountains to traverse.. three mountains in particular. "

what really took me was when he said

"the first mountain is the mountain of ego... the woman has to remember, the man is her husband and he is not a competitor to her successes,instead he is her equal.. and that the man has to remember it as well."

indeed, couples should know that they have each other to back each other up and to keep each other's faith.

After the ceremony, we partook of the bounty at the reception held at Malaybalay Folk Arts Theater. Everyone was indeed happy and glad for the couple who both had given emotional thank you speeches. Each visitor was given a jar of home-made chocolates as token of gratitude.

Events such as this would remind people there are a lot of risks to be taken in this world--- some really frightening, some funny while some painful but most are lovely especially when prayed and worked upon.
